The DVGW supports the gas and water industry in all technical and scientific areas. The main focus of the Association’s work is on safety and hygiene as well as environmental and consumer protection. The DVGW elaborates technical rules designed to promote the technical self-management of the German gas and water industry, thus ensuring the safe and secure supply of gas and water according to the highest international standards. The Association, which was founded in 1859, currently has approximately 14,000 members. The DVGW is free from economic and political influences.

Accreditation certificates

Accreditations of the Test Laboratory Gas

The accreditations are a prerequisite for approval-relevant tests.

The Test Laboratory Gas is accredited with various national and international organisations. Here you can find information on the standards and product groups for which the accreditations apply with the different organisations.

The product segments of the recognition as a testing laboratory for DIN CERTCO with registration number PL-019 are:

  • Automatic burner control systems for oil burners; DIN EN 298:2012-11
  • Heating Boilers; DIN EN 303-1:2017-11, DIN EN 303-2:2017-11, DIN EN 303-5:2012-10
  • Oil fired forced convection heaters; DIN EN 13842:2004-10
  • Temperature control and limiting devices for heat generating systems; DIN EN 14597:2015-02
  • Water heaters and water heating installations; DIN 4753-1:2011-11

The certification qualifies the Test Laboratory Gas as a test body for the “Witnessed Manufacturer's Testing for Certification Program" (WMTC) of the CSA Group for combination gas controls for gas appliances in line with ANSI Z21.78-2010 (reaffirmed 2020) / CSA 6.20-2010 (reaffirmed 2020).

The Test Laboratory Gas is a recognized testing laboratory for the Construction Products Regulation (EU) No 305/2011(CPR) (notified body 2403, certificate of appointment see below for download). We can provide testing based on the following standards:

  • EN 682:2002, EN 682:2002/A1:2005
  • EN 331:1998+ EN 331:1998/A1:2010, EN 331:2015
  • EN 15069:2008
  • EN 14800:2007

The Test Laboratory Gas is accredited by the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle (DAkkS) for the following segments (accreditation certificate for download and entry in the DAkkS database):

  • Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
  • Safety of electrical equipment
  • Material testing of products of gas distribution and gas utilization
  • Sampling and selected testing of fuels

This also includes tests in line with the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU as well as the Gas Appliance Regulation (EU) 2016/426.

In these segments, the Test Laboratory Gas at the EBI is recognized by DVGW CERT GmbH (notified body 0085, registration number LV-BN7053) as a testing laboratory for gas and water products.
