THE DVGW Research Centre

The DVGW Research Centre at Engler-Bunte-Institute of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is an independent facility resulting from the collaboration between the DVGW - German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water eV, with its headquarters in Bonn and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

The research station is a joint facility which includes the Engler-Bunte Institue of the Karlsruhe Institue of Technology with its departments of Fuel chemistry and Technology, Combustion Technology and Water Chemistry and the DVGW with its divisions: Gas Technology, Testing Laboratory Gas and Water technology.

Here, gas appliances, gas fittings, electronic components, metallic, non-metallic and other related components are tested, inspected and certified in conjunction with DVGW norms. The research centre together with the chairs of the Engler-Bunte-Institute engages in practice relevant research. The employees advise companies of the gas and water industry, develops and improves working practices in the industry and are involved in many ways in National, European and International standardization work which in recent years has become increasingly relevent as the common market has been shifting more towards the European and International Standards.
