The DVGW test laboratory



The DVGW test laboratory at the Engler-Bunte-Institut of the KIT – Karlsruhe Institute of Technology is a common, independent facility of the DVGW – Deutscher Verein des Gas- und Wasserfaches e.V., Bonn and the KIT – Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

It is beard together by the divisions chemistry and technology of gas, petroleum and carbon, combustion technology and hydro chemistry and is subdivided into the sections Gas Technology, Test Laboratory Gas and Water Technology

The laboratory is testing, monitoring and in connection with the DVGW certifying such as gas appliances and fittings, electronic components, metallic and non-metallic materials and much more. The test laboratory demonstrates the applications of the professorships of the Engler-Bunte-Institute; practice relevant research is performed. The personnel counsels the companies in the gas and water supply, develops the basics of practical methods and as well the personnel is involved in many ways into the national, European and international standardisation which has been relocated with regard to the common market more and more to the European or global level.
